Uplifting You, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating a foundation for under served members of our community through empowerment events, youth outreach, and community support.
In 2015, our founder, Petula Skeete, created the #beautyFULL movement, encouraging others to be comfortable in their own skin and reaffirming that they too are #beautyFULL.
The #beautyFULL motto
A customized look or feeling that varies between all individuals. Just as the spelling is unconventional so is our movement. We are changing the perception of beauty into an all-inclusive #beautyFULL community.
Wear Your C.R.O.W.N.
Petula Skeete, founder of #BeautyFULL, hosted her second women’s empowerment event dubbed Wear Your C.R.O.W.N. - C.R.O.W.N. stands for Crisis, Resilience, Ownership, Winning, Now. Women from all walks of life gathered Downtown Manhattan for the March 22nd soiree featuring a candid conversation with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts and IT Cosmetics founder Jamie Kern Lima.

I am Petula Skeete, an Emmy-award winning hairstylist and mother of two. I’m also the force behind Uplifting You Inc., #beautyFULL and Motivational Mondays.
It started with a DREAM when I was about six years old.
I wanted to be validated by my peers at that tender age because society said that I was too tall, too black, my feet were too big. I had too much of everything, still not enough of anything. I was constantly trying to figure out how to become beautiful, how to be a pretty girl, how to be someone who the world said I was not.
I was so obsessed that I was robbed of my childhood. roadmap that led to an amazing career in the beauty field.
