Uplifting You Inc. partnered with the NYPD Guardians Association for their 2nd annual Prom King project on May 11th, 2019. This annual event is focused on dressing New York City High School males who will be attending graduation and prom. The project was established because too many community events focused on preparing young women rather than assisting the young men. The Prom King Project wants the young men to feel and look just as special as the young women by providing them with the essentials for prom and graduation!

At this event we provided free haircuts, free suits for prom/graduation, a tie-tying tutorial seminar, and officials from CUNY institutions discussing the admission process for freshmen college students. The main volunteers for this community event were male members of the New York Police Department to Provide an empowering environment for young men to engage with police officers of the same gender; fostering positive relationships between the Police Department and our future leaders.
